Nothin' but cats

Judy at Split in Two requested new pictures of Sassy Clementine. She is growing up fast. Shortly after she came to live with us at about 3 months of age, she had her first estrus, so she was spayed forthwith. She's full of spit and vinegar and pretty much tortures the other cats and Lucy the dog as well. She loves playing outside and finds everything a huge adventure.

Here she is on the basement stairs.

Stalking a stray bug or what-not.

Sassy with her favorite playmate, Frankie, in the flower bed.

Resting after a wrestling match.

I love her coloring. And her fur is so, so soft...like rabbit fur.

Doesn't she look lovely in the evening sun?

Frankie is a sweet, sweet boy, but he gives Sassy a run for her money.

Tobey is my fat boy who lives to love. And he's an expert mouser.

Being half Siamese, Frankie's eyes are cutely crossed. He does have a slight vision problem though. He loves to give me lots of sweet kisses.

and your grass is so green!

THANK YOU so much for the Sassy update! She is so photogenic too, just like she knows she is being adored! We've got the whole cat thing going on here too. Unfortunately our newest adopted kitty, Ziggy, is hated by the rest of the cats. The only love or play he gets is from us!

Well, Susie, I don't know if I've ever said this about any cat before, but I think Sassy is as beautiful as my regal Bishop. Those eyes make me think she was royalty once upon a time. An orphan princess!

Awwwww I love cats! Sassy is gorgeous, and you can definitely tell even from a photo that she's full of spark. Very cool that she and Frankie play together - your place must be heaven for them.

She's got the most beautiful coloring!!!
Your photos are always so fab. What kind of camera do you have? Are these straight out of the camera or did you use software to aler them?

CUTE! She's still gwowing. I am reduced to baby talk. Happy you've saved and kept her. What a beauty. Meow!!!!

She is a beauty!! we have one cat (Coopurrr)with that soft, rabbit-like fur...I love petting him. Great pics!

Sanna, that green grass is from all the chicken poop last year! ;) And it is a perfect backdrop for Sassy's coloring, I think. I just love how she looks like two different cats mixed together!

Sandy, Sassy is definitely Miss Priss! She's kind of bow-legged in the back so she always looks like she's ready to attack, which most of the time she is! She's been a lot easier to manage inside since I started letting her play outside. She has LOTS of energy!

Ruthie, Sassy will be so thrilled at that extreme compliment! You noticed the Cleopatra eyes, eh? Maybe that should have been her name...or even Anastasia!

oh so sweet babies!!! gorgeous

Deborah, Sassy is going to be so conceited from all these compliments! I don't know if our home is heaven, but the castoffs and starving ones sure seem to know which house to come to when they're down and out! (And I'm glad they do!)

Hi Jackee, thank you! I use a Nikon D50 which they no longer make. I'm not a fan of mucking around with my photos, so I'm pretty minimal with the processing. These were just cropped and I used Photoscape to add the frame around them. On this set, the lighting had a lot to do with my success. Evening is a great time to take pictures.

Cali Girl, she is a doll, isn't she? I know, I talk baby talk to her all the time. She hasn't started answering me yet though! ;) She's pretty appreciative of having been saved, as all my kitties are. Dey wuvs me!

Tammy! Hi, it's nice to see you back! Oh, I love Coopurr's name...so cute! Don't you just love that kind of fur? Tobey's is even better...you can really sink your fingers into it, and he loves getting his belly petted, so it's even softer there.

Thank you, Char! I'll tell them that you like them!

And you were worried she wouldn't be accepted. Frankie seems to like his wrestling partner. His crossed eye is sweet - poor thing. I hope he doesn't walk into too many walls. I love Tobey, the lump of love.

Susan said...

Molly...Lump of Love! hahaha! That's Tobey's new nickname...I love it! Frankie doesn't run into walls, but when I'm outside calling him, he can't seem to see me until he's about 6 feet away. They both love Sassy...they're like a gay couple with their adopted daughter. ;)

She's beautiful. I love her markings and what a face!

They are all so adorable and cute. I just love kitties and would have a bunch if I could. My daughter is a sucker for them too, always taking in strays. One she has is a yellow male she rescued and named him Opie. Your Frankie reminds me of him although his eyes are not crossed they look alot alike and he is a laid back lover who likes to suck your ear lobe!! LOL.
Give them kisses!!!

YOU made my day! Thanks, I'm just crazy about cats. Sassy has the most interesting fur of any cat I have ever seen!

ds said...

Oh, I have seen those eyes; they belonged to our Empress. The coloring is uniquely Sassy's, though, and she is GORGEOUS. So glad to see her frolicking with the others. Thanks for the smiles!!

Susan said...

Thank you, Bella! Can't you just see the orneriness in that face?!!

Cora, I love the name Opie! Wish I had thought of it for one of mine. I'm sure if I let Frankie near my ear lobes, he would probably suck on them! He is quite the lover! I'm trying not to pet them as much right now, because they're shedding like crazy. It's hard not to though....they're so sweet.

Judy, I'm so glad you're pleased with Sassy's outcome and her pictures! I always love showing off my kitties, so thank YOU for giving me the go-ahead. Her fur is unique, isn't it? They called it tiger calico at the vet's office.

ds, I do believe that Sassy must be of royal descent, because you and Ruthie have compared her to your cats with royal leanings. Please don't let her know...her ego is already more than I can handle at times! hehe

GORGEOUS pictures of those cats ... Sassy's eyes and coloring are both amazing! I can see just how well cared for and loved they are. You are a special person, Susan!

Susan said...

Di, thank you! I'll tell Sassy you said she is pretty!

CG, thank you, my dear! As in "special" do you mean like "crazy cat lady"? hehe

...I have been watching for a Sassy update too...so glad you shared this...my miss Sally will stop me from checking your blog tho if she thinks I am getting any ideas of getting a new kitten:)

Susan said...

Oliag, you'll just have to be discreet about what you're watching on the 'net! Miss Sally takes naps, doesn't she? :) This would be the season for getting a new kitten...there will be hundreds of them at the animal shelters!
