I want one of these

Let me restate that: I need one of these. My butt is growing ever bigger from lack of exercise due to sitting in front of my computer. And yes, I'm blaming you, and you, and you over there for writing such fascinating words for me to read and gorgeous pictures for me to sigh over.

I think this little number would do the trick, because watching TV while I'm doing the treadmill doesn't cut it. I still keep looking at the time and wondering how much longer I can possible stand to stay on that boring machine from hell. Oh, what? It's only been 15 minutes? Ugh!

The only problem would be the fact that my desktop wouldn't exactly work on this nice little stand (only $479 on sale!), so I would also have the expense of a new laptop. Hmmmmm, do you think Santa is feeling extra generous this year?

p.s. The Hallowe'en candy isn't helping...not one little bit.

LOL oh I know this feeling - i definitely gained weight the 10 months I was at home. now i have to drink water.

Susan said...

Ruthie did Lesley pop up on the LinkWithin thing-y? Sweet that you said hello!:)

I may be funny here, but it ain't so funny looking in the full-length mirror!

Char, water is a good start and I sure don't drink enough, especially in the cold weather! Note to self: drink more H2O!

Oh that is too funny. I took one look at that desk and thought - by God - she's turned the treadmill into my office! You see, I actually look forward to my hour on the cardio machines because that is when I get in my daily reading. I don't want my computer anywhere near my gym.

I read while listening to the TV on the elliptical or while walking on the treadmill. I keep a game on and look up or tune in whenever the announcers get excited. I'll read a chapter or section, take a break from the book and watch the game, then go back to the book during the commercial. It gives me enough to preoccupy me but not so much that I get lazy. I have noticed that if I read while on the bike, I barely petal I get so engrossed in the act of sitting down.

Whatever it takes, Honey! Gotta keep those bones moving...

I don't think I could type and tread at the same time. Not that co-ordinated! I can, however, flip through trashy magazines and watch tv and drink water while on a treadmill. I just don't.
And yes, it shows here, too.

What a great idea, Susan! I really need some motivation after Halloween, and Columbus Day and last Saturday night and Fourth of July and Groundhog's Day and Red Leather Chair Day ... any holiday is a downfall for me!
Don't get a new computer if you can help it! I usually always gain weight when I get a new computer! Learning the ins and outs of a new piece of technology is my downfall!

Ha ha,I want one! Can it turn pages, too?

Susan said...

Molly, now that's what I call multi-tasking! lol Maybe that's the secret...I haven't had enough things going on to keep my mind off my feet and legs! I'm telling you, I'm thisclose to going the hypnosis route. Got to get my mojo back, baby!

Susan said...

I know, dutchbaby, you would think my motivation would be strong to keep my bones from getting any more advanced in age. Just have to get in the right frame of mind!

Sanna, I think the concept behind this deal is that you're only going 1-2 mph, but you're doing it all day long. I seriously doubt any of us is going to be on our computers for that long....although I've had days! lol

Susan said...

Oh, Sanna, that trashy magazine idea...got any extras?

Susan said...

CG, you are so right! New computers are the worst...and so much fun! Seriously, I don't know if it's my age or what, but I can't stay away from the sugar! I really, really have to consider the idea of never allowing it in my house again! And who is the culprit who brings it in here in the first place, you ask? Why, ME, of course! lol

Susan said...

ds, I think turning pages is part of the exercise regimen! haha

I don't think I have the co-ordination to walk and work at the same time. kinda like patting head and rubbing your tummy... just can't combine the 2 but It a great time saving device. I do like the concept

Hmm, I would need something for my belly. Is there a desktop rowing machine? ;-)

Susan said...

Liss, it definitely wouldn't work with power-walking!

Susan said...

I don't know, Natashya, but if there is it would be very interesting for those of us who wear bifocals or progressive lenses! lol

Cindy said...

you are crackin me up! how did you know I'm in the market for a new desk?

VioletSky said...

re: trashy magazines: best to wait until Kate Gosselin has gone away. then again, that may help you lose your appetite??

Susan said...

Cindy, too bad I don't get a commission! haha

Sannayeah, she's pretty pathetic. I watched her interview with Natalie Morales on TLC the other night. She is still in denial that the show is what brought their family crashing down. Poor, poor Kate.

hahahahhahahahaha! ME TOO! I do my blogging at night on the couch and it KILLS my back. Never seen the infomercial for this but, hey, looks great. Too funny Susan.

Susan said...

Cali Girl, luckily the only thing that's saving my back is sitting at my computer desk in a really good computer chair. You would think the headache from staring at the computer screen would be enough to get me up and moving, but, NO, there's always another blog to read! :)

I think Santa should definitely bring you this. What a nifty invention. I tried an exercise bike for a week or two once and could not for the life of me make myself do it for more than 10 minutes. It was too bouncy to read, and too boring to watch daytime TV. THIS machine, though . . . now you're talking. I could set up my frappaccino right there on the stand ;) But maybe that's defeating the purpose.

Cora said...

LOL...I can relate too!
Thank for the "I'm not alone" feeling!

beth said...

I want one of these too....I think !
I can walk and chew gum at the same time...surely I could type and walk at the same time, right ?

and the benefits....well, if my butt looks nicer because I'm typing...what an amazing win win situation....and yes, that blasted halloween candy needs to exit my house, too.....arrghhhh

Susan said...

Welcome, Lynn! Yes, I think the frappucino might be a negative factor in this equation! ;) You might want to stick a nice herbal iced tea.

Thanks for visiting!

Susan said...

Cora, I don't any of us is ever alone in this quest! I keep telling myself that I really, really must get serious...and I will....tomorrow! :)

Susan said...

Beth, we've had years and years of practice walking and chewing gum at the same time...it might take a few tries to get the hang of banging on a keyboard and staying upright on a treadmill together!

The sad thing about the Halloween candy is I don't even have trick-or-treaters! lol

Don said...

I would use it for a while and then it would end up in the barn with bales of straw on it. At least I would have to lift the straw!

Susan said...

Don, this contraption and the machine it sits atop also make great places for hanging clothes. lol

{heavy sigh} I LOVE Halloween Candy.

Sandy Nawrot said...

Oh my, I so need one of these! Think of how many miles I could rack up on my fitness challenge, and all the while keep up with my blogging! I wonder if I give Santa a big smooch, if he would get me one?

Susan said...

Oh no, Jackee, did you have a setback from the Halloween candy, or wishing you had some? :)

Susan said...

Sandy, I bet your Santa would bring the world to you if you just crook your finger, especially with how hot you're looking lately! :)
